Continuing to believe in these myths can lead you down the path to destruction. Here are some of them:

Since Im just working for me, there is no need for a business plan. Would you go on a trip without a plan? Would you get married without a plan? Plans are good. They will help you get focused and stay that way. A good business plan will help you to think through all the aspects of your business and see you on your way to success.

Ill have to invest in expensive software to get a good business plan. Nope. Software may help, but you dont need it. How do you think all those businessmen succeeded before the invention of the computer?

Then Ill need to hire a consultant to write my business plan for me. You are the one who knows what you are going to do. If not, then all the consultants in the world cant help you. Try a coach or mentor to guide you, rather than do things for you.

I should get one of those business plan templates that sound really complicated. Complicated is good, right? Wrong! Simple is better.

I need to have everything perfect before I start. If you wait that long you may never start. Fix it as you go. Just make sure the major points are as good as they can be.

If I dont do everything my business plan says Im a failure. Sometimes detours or changes can be beneficial to your long-distance plan. Dont sweat the small stuff.

My business plan must be typed, at least 50 pages long with a professional looking cover. You can write it in hieroglyphics on the wall so long as you can understand it and access it when you need to.

I only need a business plan if Im getting a loan. Would you invest in any business without seeing a prospectus? Youll be investing in this one! Just do a budget and run it by your accountant.

If I have a business plan in my head - that will do. But can you remember it? Can your friends give you advice by reading your mind? Can your accountant?

Friends and family are all Ill need to give me advice. Could a city man tell a farmer how to run his farm? Only if your family are accountants and market research experts will they be qualified to give the right advice.Stanhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07561930743363665294noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5901221024797259558.post-40098678178562163012007-01-12T17:00:00.000-08:002007-01-12T17:01:16.449-08:007 Simple and Inexpensive Steps to Building a Profitable Marketing SystemDo you feel lost in a sea of marketing options? You are not alone. Many small business owners are confused and paralyzed by the thousands of options available to them. Unfortunately this means that many potentially profitable marketing tactics are abandoned before they bear fruit.

Here is a 7 Step Formula to help you focus on your profitable options and prevent you from wasting time and money on ineffective techniques. This simple formula has been borrowed from the marketing habits of billionaire entrepreneurs who have used this simple system to build vast fortunes. Let's get started -

1) Focus on One Advertising Technique:

Select an advertising tactic that meets your budget. If you are an online marketer with a small budget focus on traffic exchanges or writing articles. If you are an offline marketer with a healthy budget focus on direct marketing and direct response newspaper advertising. Master your advertising technique before you invest more money. Remember we are simply creating a template for your marketing program

2) Map the Steps:

This step is very important. Get a sheet of paper and write out the steps from your initial advertisement all the way through to the customer's purchase. This series of steps is called your Marketing Funnel.

Your system may look something like this: 1) Prospect Reads eZine ad, 2) Prospect Clicks URL and visits Newsletter Sign-up, 3) Prospect opts in to newsletter, 4) Prospect clicks purchase link from email newsletter, 5) Customer downloads purchase.

Now Move on to Step 3 -

3) Feed Your Marketing Funnel

Now that you understand the steps in your Marketing Funnel – you are in a good position to start feeding it traffic. I suggest that you select your least expensive option, like article creation, low cost pay per click, or sending an email to your existing list.

Your goal is not to make a sale (although that is a great bonus). Your real objective is to examine the efficiency of your marketing funnel. The more traffic you get the better. But remember, you should not be maxing out credit cards at this stage. Let's take a look at Step 4…

4) Refine and Test Until You See Results

This is where 90% of beginning marketers stumble. Contrary to popular belief, traffic is not the most important thing to your site. The most important thing you can do is understand how your marketing funnel turns a visitor into a customer.

Now look at your marketing funnel and check for bottlenecks. A bottleneck prevents your visitors from converting to prospects. For example, if you find that only 2% of your visitors are clicking on your eZine ad then your looking at a bottleneck. If only 1% of your prospects are clicking on the "buy" button on your order form – you got it – you've got a bottleneck.

Do not invest any more money into your marketing until you are satisfied that you have a friction-free marketing funnel. Master this step and you will have a license to print money.

5) Reinvest Profits for Growth

Now is the time to start investing money to drive traffic to your marketing funnel. As you make sales, take the profit and reinvest it back into gaining quality traffic for your system. For example – if your prospect saw your site on a Traffic Exchange, Visited your Sales Page, and Purchased your product – take the profits and reinvest in the Traffic Exchange, perhaps becoming a Pro member to get more opportunities to advertise to the same pool of people

6) Seek out Complementary Products and Services

Once your system is consistent, predictable and profitable, take the process and apply it to a similar but complimentary market. Follow the same steps exactly. Remember do not invest more money into you understand your marketing funnel and see predictable results.

I suggest a complementary market because your system has a higher chance of succeeding. Most likely, the customers from your current business would also be perfect prospects for a complementary product.

7) Rinse & Repeat

Now you have a Marketing Funnel that yields consistent results. At any moment you can look at your system and know exactly how much profit you will make from every dollar invested. You no longer have to "hope" that your marketing works – you now are completely certain that it will perform as you predicted.

Like Bill Gates, Michael Dell, and Steve Jobs, you have built a marketing system that builds wealth rather than sucking your bank account dry. You have a competitive edge that will allow you to succeed at any business endeavor you choose. Remember the fundamentals and reap the rewards.Stanhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07561930743363665294noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5901221024797259558.post-71900607579486489812007-01-10T18:07:00.001-08:002007-01-10T18:07:44.603-08:00The Three Things to Avoid When Mailing Your ListThe 3 Things To Avoid When Emailing Your List

When you decide to have an opt-in list, it is not just a matter of sending your subscribers your promotional newsletters or catalogs. There are many things to consider in avoiding many complications. While there are so many ways you can make people subscribe to your list, there are also some things you must do to avoid subscribers from wanting to get off from your list.

Aside from that, you also want to avoid any problems with the law and your internet service provider or ISP. There are now many laws and rules that are applied to help protect the privacy of the internet users from spamming and unwanted mails. With the popularity of the electronic mail as a medium for marketing because of the low cost, many company’s have seized the opportunity and have flooded many people’s e-mail accounts with promotional mail.

But, with an opt-in list, you avoid this annoyance because people subscribe to the list; they want to receive the newsletters and promotional materials. They have consented to being on the list by subscribing themselves, just don’t forget to put an unsubscribe feature everytime in your opt-in list so that you avoid any confusion. There may be times when an email account was provided when the real owner didn’t want to subscribe.

It is essential that you keep your list clean and manageable. Arrange it by using the many tools and technologies available for your opt-in list. Do not worry; your investment in this marketing strategy is well worth it with all the coverage you will get which will likely be converted into sales then to profit.

Keep yourself and your business out of trouble and potential run-ins with the law and the internet service providers. Keep your operation legit and clean. Your reputation as a legitimate businessman and a legitimate site depends on your being a straight and true marketing strategist. As a tip, here are three things to avoid when emailing your list.

1) Take notice of your unsuccessful sends. These are the e-mails that bounce. Bounced emails, also known as undeliverable messages, are those messages that, for whatever reason, were not successfully received by the intended recipient.

There are bounces that happen or occur because the server was busy at that time but can still be delivered in another time. There are also bounces because the inbox of the recipient is full at that time. There are those bounce messages that are simply undeliverable ever. The reason for this is that it may be an invalid email address, a misspelled email address, or an email address that was abandoned and erased already.

Manage your list by putting markings on those that bounce. Erase an email account from your list so that you have an accurate statistics and records as to how many are actually receiving your mail. You may also want to check the spellings of your email addresses in your list. One common mistake is when an N instead of an M is placed in the .com area.

2) Always provide an unsubscribe feature in your site and an unsubscribe link in your mails. When someone in your list files a request to be unsubscribed, always take that request seriously. If you don’t take them off your list and keep sending them your e-mails, you are now sending them spam mail.

When you are reported as a spammer, you and your business can get into a lot of trouble. You can be reported to the authorities and maybe blacklisted by many internet service providers. You will lose a lot of subscribers this way and many more in potential subscribers.

3) Do not provide pornographic or shocking and disturbing content in your newsletters. It is hard to decipher the age of the recipient and many complaints may stem from these. Controversial issues also are to be avoided to not be branded by your subscribers. Stick to the nature of your site and business.

Always remember these tips in this article so that you can have a healthy relationship with your subscribers as well as be kept within the boundaries of what is allowed in sending mails to an opt-in list.Stanhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07561930743363665294noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5901221024797259558.post-70348314539156352032007-01-09T10:37:00.001-08:002007-01-09T10:37:30.986-08:00Do You Have a Master PlanThere is so much written on planning these days that it's hard for nearly anyone to argue against the value of planning.

Some people like to live by the "seat of their pants," and no one would argue that a little spontaneity is great to have in your life. But you do need to plan something at some point, or your life will simply be one reaction after another. The non-planner will end up taking no proactive action to improve his or her life. The most successful people plan their goals and are motivated to accomplish them.

Everyone needs a master plan. Do you have one? A master plan should include long term goals, short term goals, and objectives. You may want to build in some rewards to motivate you to accomplish them as well. Let's look at each item that should appear in your master plan:

Lifetime goals: The first things you should include in your master plan are your lifetime, or dream goals. These are goals that you want to do at some point in your life and they shouldn't be dependent on money, time, or skill. If you're afraid of heights but have the goal of someday being a professional pilot, write it down! Create a long list by finishing this sentence: "If I had unlimited money, time and skill, I would want to..."

Short term and Long term goals: Once you have your lifetime goals list, you should break it down into things that you can realistically do in the short term and in the long term. Short term goals might be anywhere from the present to the next five or ten years. Long term goals are likely anything five or ten years and beyond. (Don't worry yet about how you'll accomplish them; we'll get to that in a moment). Put them in order from the things you want to do sooner to the things you want to do later.

Objectives: Once you have developed your goals, now you need to create objectives for each one. Objectives are the steps that you need to take to reach your goals. If you're afraid of heights but want to be a professional pilot some day, your objectives might be to...

1. Overcome your fear of heights,
2. Ride in an airplane,
3. Take flying lessons,
4. Get your commercial pilot's license, and
5. Buy an airplane.

You might look at this list and say "easier said than done!" but by breaking down all of your goals into smaller objectives; it does become easier to do. You now have some small steps to work on to get you to the next level.

What does all this have to do with e-business? Simple: For many entrepreneurs, a long term goal might be financial freedom. Building your e-business might be one of the objectives to reach that goal.

And within that "main" objective of building your business will be the smaller objectives that must be reached to do the building. The more you break down the steps that need to be taken, the easier it will be to reach your goal.Stanhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07561930743363665294noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5901221024797259558.post-21827783205380669592007-01-08T19:21:00.000-08:002007-01-08T19:40:15.014-08:00Pipeline Profits Video 4 - NotesI am a obsessive note taker so I decided to publish my notes that I've been taken on the Pipeline Profits Videos. These guys are spilling some insider stuff and they "really" shaking up the guru's a bit.

Here are my notes from their recently uploaded Video #4

Quizzing Your Coregistration Broker

Can the leads be delivered in real time?

This question is important because you want to deliver your autoresponder message while the lead is still in their "hyper-responsive mode" Waiting for the publisher to send you batched leads - once a week - can lower your conversion rates.

Can I Use Your Publisher's Autoresponder?

Two important reasons for asking this question:

#1 - Most of the popular autoresponders will not allow you to send coregistration leads to your autoresponder. I lost a very good list by not paying attention to this. So you save time and money by using the publishers autoresponder.

#2 The publisher has already done the legwork on making sure that their subscribers have "whitelisted" their address. This can save you from having to send out a "tempo stealing" verification/whitelisting email

Are the opt-ins incentivised in any way?

Critical question to ask to make sure that you are getting a truly interested lead. Many sites offer free ipods, frequent flier points, calling cards, etc. to motivate the person to sign-up. These folks are not not real leads they can kill your conversion rates.

Are the Opt-in Boxes Prechecked?

Prechecked opt-in boxes lead to junk leads and unsubscribe rates. You don't want your subscribers on your list because they didn't want to take the time to uncheck the opt-in box.

Do they Offer the right demographics

This is pretty self-explanatory. Make sure that the demographics of the site matches your product's target. For example, you don't want to try to sell a colon-cleansing product to a teenage demographic.

Make sure You Are Getting Signups from Countries that can use your offer.

If you are an international business go ahead and get international subscribers. However, if your product is only available in the US, ask your broker to make sure that your offer is only advertised to a US list.

Types of Coregistration Records
- Full Record = Name, Address, Phone(Rarely does this)
- Partial Record = Full Record minus the phone number
- Minimum - First Name and Email Address

General Tips
- Spread out delivery (don't get 10,000 in one day!)
- I don't know where you are getting them from but mail to source 1, and source 2 and source 3. Improves conversion rates
- Track every source
- Be careful of the "rollout"

How many sites are in the network?

Probe to see if other's have been successful marketing to the network

Tracking
Cut the losers quickStanhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07561930743363665294noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5901221024797259558.post-5866591718184084772007-01-07T13:06:00.000-08:002007-01-07T13:07:05.782-08:00Give Your Business Plan An Extreme MakeoverYou may have several ideas for a new business or only one. Before you start pouring your effort and money into an idea you need to see if it will stand up to some analysis. Try a SWOT analysis. This requires you to think about the Strengths, Weaknesses, and Opportunities your business will have, and the Threats it may face.

A high level of skill with a range of equipment, or a friend that is prepared to loan you some money would be strengths. If you have never run a business before that could be a weakness. A ready, enthusiastic market would be an opportunity, while several businesses almost identical to the one you are thinking of starting or a weakening economy would be threats. This type of analysis can show you if your business idea is viable and should encourage you to exploit opportunities and help you decide how to tackle threats.

Decide on your Unique Selling Proposition...

Why should a potential customer come to you and not a rival? Will you specialize in a certain area? You should be able to identify where and how you can contact your potential customers and have an idea of the demand for your type of service or product.

Write a Business Plan...

There are many versions and it seems every bank and business advisor has slightly different requirements. However every version should keep you focused on what you want to do with your business and the strategies to achieve this in a certain time frame. It should identify the services or products you intend to offer initially, and those you hope to expand into later. Remember the plan is a working document. If you miss deadlines you should be able to modify the plan to get your business back on course.

Once you have decided on the type of business you want to start do some research to see if there are any gaps in the local market. Find out your competitor's pricing. You could get friends to ask for quotes from the competition, or use a more direct approach and have discussions with a local expert. Remember, a company could be a potential competitor or a potential joint venture partner. Perhaps you could approach them with an idea for a product or service that would complement theirs.

When setting prices do not immediately assume undercutting is the only solution. You need enough income to cover your overheads and a low price may give the impression that your skills and work have little value.

Cash flow is another important element in starting and running a business. Make sure you do not have to make too big an investment before you get paid. You should know how much you have to earn to at least break even.

After working through your business plan and giving cash flow a good deal of thought you should know whether your proposed business is viable.Stanhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07561930743363665294noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5901221024797259558.post-82762516517573249342007-01-06T20:31:00.001-08:002007-01-06T20:31:38.230-08:00Technorati RocksTechnorati ProfileStanhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07561930743363665294noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5901221024797259558.post-69146429668590844772007-01-06T20:11:00.000-08:002007-01-06T20:11:25.820-08:00Making Money with Articles - Becoming an AffiliateMaking Money with Articles - Becoming an Affiliate: "If you can either write articles or have the promotion and marketing knowledge to publicize articles that others write, becoming an affiliate for several companies may be a great way for you to generate a good income right from your own home. You can do this by receiving part of the revenue off of sales that the company gets from people who “click through” from your website via the company’s links that are placed on your pages."Stanhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07561930743363665294noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5901221024797259558.post-16362679853738291472007-01-06T08:26:00.000-08:002007-01-06T08:28:18.154-08:00Now this is "Old School"Yes, marketing has gotten very complex. So it is nice when one or two “old school” techniques manage to still kick in the teeth of the newest marketing fads.

One of my personal favorites is the humble old Sales Letter. Yep, the ones with a great attention getting headline, a riveting lead, solid promises, and a drop-dead offer. Sales Letters are my favorites because they continue to this day to make send their authors to the bank with a huge grin on their face.

In fact, a great Sales Letter gives you the “License to Print” money. Now, don’t shake your head – I admit that the web is bloated with hack pieces of outrageous copy that aren’t worth the pixel they’re written on…

The good news is that these sales letters aren’t long for the world because their authors are quickly going bankrupt trying to stupidly offer worthless products to very smart consumers.

So let’s get this straight – I am not advising you to spend even a microsecond considering this crap –

Instead, we are going to talk about the winners

For example:

· American Express has two letters in its archives that poured almost $2 Billion (yep… a billion) into their coffers. One letter was only 3 pages long and (if you do the math) was worth about $300 million a page!

· A growing group of “Old School” copywriters easily make six-figures incomes a year crafting sales letters that pull in millions (guaranteed) for their clients

· For example, one copywriter hit a homerun with one Sales Letter that made his client from $500,000 to $1 million in sales.

These million-dollar sales letters were based on what I call the Holy Trinity of Marketing –

A truly innovative product, presented with undeniable evidence, wrapped in an insanely great offer.

Personally, I obsess over getting the Holy Trinity right. I spend easily 80% of my time, researching the product, exploring its benefits and convincing my clients to create the absolute best offer possible. Because, If we get it right – one letter to can make millions (even billions).

Action Plan: Take a long and critical look at your web and direct marketing materials. If you have to search for the Holy Trinity – throw them away and start over. This is too important to ignore.Stanhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07561930743363665294noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5901221024797259558.post-36276837557830674122007-01-05T08:19:00.000-08:002007-01-05T08:20:10.233-08:00Characteristics of the Successful EntrepreneurStudies have shown that successful entrepreneurs possess these
characteristics:

1. Self-confidence

This is that magical power of having confidence in oneself and in
one's powers and abilities.

2. Achievement Oriented

Results are gained by focused and sustained effort. They
concentrate on achieving a specific goal, not just accomplishing
a string of unrelated tasks.

3. Risk Taker

They realize that there is a chance of loss inherent in achieving
their goals, yet they have the confidence necessary to take
calculated risks to achieve their goals.

Entrepreneurs are people who will make decisions, take action,
and think that they can control their own destinies. They are
often motivated by a spirit of independence which leads them to
believe that their success depends on raw effort and hard work,
not luck.

So which of these three main characteristics is the most
important? Believe it or not, it has to be self-confidence.
Without self-confidence, nothing else is possible. If you don't
believe in your abilities, then the first challenge that arises
may knock you off the path to achieving your goals. Here are a
few things to keep in mind for maintaining a higher level of
self-confidence.

Positive Thinking

Well, it all starts with a positive attitude, doesn't it?
Believing that something good will happen is the first step.
Negative thinking simply is not allowed. You must truly believe
that there are no circumstances strong enough to deter you from
reaching your goals. Remember too, that positive thinking can be
contagious. When positive thinking spreads, it can open doors to
new ideas, customers, friends, etc.

Persistent Action

Now all of the positive thinking and believing in the world is
useless if it is not applied towards a goal. You have to take
action, no excuses are allowed. This action must also be
persistent. Trying once and then giving up is not going to be
enough. Keep at it one step at a time. If you can't get by a
certain step, then find a creative way to try again or just go
around it.

At the beginning of this article we identified a few traits that
are common among successful entrepreneurs. You should be able to
look ahead and see yourself where you want to be. Now just
maintain a strong belief in yourself and your skills, stick with
it, and don't give up. If you can do that, you're already half
way there!Stanhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07561930743363665294noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5901221024797259558.post-15629459902732047562007-01-04T15:57:00.000-08:002007-01-04T15:59:39.523-08:00Special Report (5): Road to RichesCITY OR COUNTRY—WHICH!

I CAN readily understand why your eyes should look longingly towards a situation in the city, and I appreciate all of what you call the advantages that the city clerk has over his country brother; but there are two Bides to this question, as to every other, and while I do not propose to say either " stay " or " go," I think I can give you a few points that you, as a young man, may be in danger of overlooking.

First, then, you must take into account the fact that the competition in the city is a thousand-fold greater than in the country, and this rivalry is not only in money-making, but in brains, and hand and brain service. As a rule, the brightest and sharpest of the country boys find their way to the city.

Some of them get there as easily and as naturally as water runs down hill; others are pushed there by the stories they hear of large salaries and the wonderful fortunes made. So that the result is the country is constantly pouring its best blood into the city, and the competition to be met there by the young man commencing life, is entirely different in degree from what he has to overcome in his own village.

Another reason why the city does not always lead to fortune, is the fact that salaries are not proportionately higher than country salaries, as the cost of living is higher. I am aware this is not as you have been looking at things, but nevertheless it is the fact.

The country clerk hears only of the fancy salaries paid; of the $2,500 to this man, $2,000 to that, and $1,800 to another, and nothing is said about the hundreds who work for $400 a year, and are hardly able to keep out of debt.Stanhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07561930743363665294noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5901221024797259558.post-2915899382788814502007-01-03T08:47:00.001-08:002007-01-03T08:48:54.369-08:00Special Report (4) - Road to Riches===================================
Claim Your Free Report
The Billion Dollar Marketing Secret
===================================

It is the habit of age to say the world is getting worse, and that "we didn't do so and so;" but that is merely a habit There are no more dangers in the steps of our young men to-day than there always were, and I think an independent manliness goes farther in winning respect than ever it did. There are good reasons for saying that it is easier to do right now than ever it was, and the men who are your judges are better educated, I think, than any other generation of merchants—just as I am confident the succeeding generation will be in advance of us.

So my first word to you, as you go out into the world, is, to hold fast to your home ties. Memory is a ghost that clings to ns through life, after we have reached the age of manhood, and blessed is he who can turn to it with content and satisfaction. The sigh of every man is, that he might be allowed to live his life over again; that he might so live that the blots, here and there, would never have been. Probably there is little use in moralizing over this point, because our children are going to see for themselves just what we saw for ourselves, and they will no more heed our warning than we heeded the warning of our elders.

But for all of this, I cannot help writing of the importance it is to every young man to choose his society carefully. You are going out into the world with a mother's prayer over you, her hopes around you. You have a vague feeling of what your mother's love is, but it is only a very indistinct conception of her heart. She has taught you the pure truths of righteousness till, it may be, they are a little tiresome to you, and all her care you have taken as a matter of course. I love to turn in the Bible to that part where the Son of God looked to his disciples and commended his mother to their care; and when I see the army of boys who every year turn from their homes to fight the battle of life, I think of the patient, praying mothers who are left at home, and who can only patiently wait and pray.

God pity them all, for some of them wait, and wait, and wait, and get back only curses and neglect when they gave their best love. Wherever you go, whatever you do, cling to the home that nurtured you; keep closely in communion with those at home, and whether business is brisk, or society demands much from you, do not forget the letters that bring the light to your mother's eyes, and that send another " God bless him!" to the throne of God.Stanhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07561930743363665294noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5901221024797259558.post-44300506700051628202007-01-01T07:46:00.000-08:002007-01-01T07:47:44.177-08:00Special Report - Road to Riches===================================
Claim Your Free Report
The Billion Dollar Marketing Secret
===================================

I was not ambitions of becoming a Vanderbilt in wealth, or a Stewart in business. It is this wish and desire that spur him on the road of life. I like it to be so; but oh I be careful that you are aiming after a noble end. It always amazes me how high-IQ people mindlessly imitate. I never get good ideas talking to other people" – Warren Buffet

You’re reading this article because you are probably at an important crossroad in your small business. The question that keeps you up at night is simple – do I push on or do I give up and go back to the day job?

======================================
Click Here to Claim your Complimentary Copy of "The Billion Dollar Marketing Secret"
======================================

The decision gnaws at you because you feel that you’ve done everything right! You’ve found a “money-making” Guru, “invested” in the eBooks, maxed the credit cards to attend the latest “Big Seminar”. And against your better judgment, you’ve mortgaged everything to join the Guru’s latest Coaching program.

But… you’re still desperate and broke.

To be fair, you’ve seen "some" results. You celebrated your first sale (even framed the ClickBank check.) However, the sales aren’t have slowed to a trickle. And, now you’re exhausted, frustrated, and disillusioned.

What went wrong?

Warren Buffet discovered early in his career that success doesn’t come from imitating methods, but by investing in the right mindset. His unwavering faith in his unique view of the world protected him from "the Guru Myth" and earned him the distinction as the 2nd richest man in America (by the way, his disciple, friend, and confidant is the Richest Man in America – Bill Gates).

So let’s unravel what I call the Guru Myth. By the end you will understand what you need to do – now – to transform your "Going Broke" story into a success story.

Guru Myth #1: "If I buy the Guru’s book it will make me rich and successful"

The "How-To" craze has duped many would be entrepreneurs. The promise goes like this, I will show you how-to achieve riches overnight. The problem is that the “How” only represents 10% of the success formula. The other 90% is hardly ever taught, the reason "Why" a Guru has achieved success.

Reality: It is not the “How” that Guarantees Success – It’s the "Why"

The Guru’s path to success is not dotted with "To Do Lists". In fact, if you stripped the Guru of every possession, his faith in his unique expertise and dedication to market it to others will put her back on top within weeks.

Guru Myth #2: "Gurus Stick With it until They Succeed"

Stubborn determination is worshipped in business the business. In fact, leaders who "change their mind" are judged to be weak and indecisive. As a result, we believe that the Guru achieved success by sticking to one course of action until he bent "the universe to his will"

Nothing could be further from the truth.

Reality: Guru’s "Fail Quickly" and Change Their Minds Often

In fact, Gurus pride themselves on their ability to quickly change course without regret. In fact, you will find that the Gurus try to "Fail Quickly!” Face it, Gurus don’t like to lose money any more than you do. If an idea isn’t performing as expected, the Guru will quickly abandon it and move on.

It’s not a coincidence, that most successful entrepreneurs have started several different businesses before they see their first "hit".

Guru Myth #3: The Guru Is The Expert

This myth sounds like this "If I Do What This Guru did, I will Get What He Got". This myth convinces many to become a Guru Groupie, buying every book, attending every seminar, and hoping that the magic will rub off. In the end, the groupie is left with a ton of books, brochures, and audiotapes – and an empty bank account.

Reality: The Guru’s Expertise is Knowing Himself

Steve Jobs knows he's masterful at creating technology that people will enjoy. Oprah Winfrey knows she's an expert at healing pain that other’s would rather ignore. These Gurus completely trust their ability to offer something compellingly unique to their audience.

"Wait a minute Stan, are you saying that Gurus have nothing to offer?"

Absolutely not! But successful entrepreneurs understand they have a unique expertise that is priceless. Once you have determined what your expertise is – then you are in a position to benefit from learning "The How-To" taught by the Gurus.

The critical decision that you need to make right now is to commit yourself to uncovering, training, and growing your unique expertise. This is your real power and the surest guarantee of success.Stanhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07561930743363665294noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5901221024797259558.post-59809524597850203512006-12-29T08:56:00.000-08:002006-12-29T08:58:37.144-08:00The Billionaire LibraryHungry for Marketing Information - Check out the Billionaire Library. However, unless you can figure out how to
work continual twenty-four hour shifts, or hire enough
people to constantly monitor incoming emails (while they're
eating up your revenue), you have a problem. The good news
is an autoresponder is an inexpensive - or even free -
method of quickly responding to emails. What these programs
do is automatically respond to incoming emails as soon as
they are received.

Emails are essential to your business for many different
reasons. Most importantly, these invisible email voices
give you their feedback about your website - for free!
However, if you spend all your working hours answering
these emails, how are you supposed to run your business?
The answer is simple: use autoresponders. Autoresponders
are programs that automatically respond to your emails
without you so much as having to click on your mouse.

There are a number of good reasons why you need an
autoresponder besides just answering your email. For
example, autoresponders can be used if you need a way to
send information about your services or products, price
lists, or if there are repeated questions asked across
large numbers of emails. Maybe you want to offer your site
visitors a special bonus of some kind, such as advice or
relevant articles. All of this can be handled by an
autoresponder. Additionally, you can advertise your
business and then build stable relationships with your
customers by using autoresponders.

Autoresponder programs vary from software that runs with
your email program to a specialized script that runs on
your web hosting company's server. This kind of script may
use a web page form or simply operate with your email
account. This kind of script is programmed to send out a
standardized message whenever an email is received. The
message is sent to a particular script or email address.

Some autoresponders can do more than simply send out
standardized messages. They can send out an unlimited
number of follow-up messages sent at predetermined interval
of time. For example, you can set your autoresponder to
send out a new message every day for as long a period as
you desire.

There are numerous companies who offer autoresponders free
of charge. Your website hosting company often provides
autoresponders as a free service. If this is not the case
with your web hosting company, there are numerous companies
who offer this service for a small fee, or free of charge,
providing you attach an advertisement for their company to
your emails.

To personalize your autoresponder messages, you can attach
a signature. Signatures in this case are much like business
cards. You can include your name, company, all your contact
numbers and addresses, and a brief message.

It's a good idea to attach a signature to every email that
is sent out. This works as a repeated reminder of your
business identity every time a customer sees it. The more
they look at your signature, the more likely your company
will spring to mind when your particular service or product
is needed.

You can create a standardized signature that every employee
in your business uses, or you can go wild, and let every
staff member create their own personal signature. Of
course, like everything in life, there are some rules and
guidelines to creating a personal signature.

Keep the length of your signature between four to six lines
of text, with no more than 70 characters in a single line.
Make sure that your email program does not cut off your
text! The content should include your name, your company
name, your email address, fax number, and any other contact
details, such as 800 numbers. Lastly, always include a
short personal message about your company. It should be a
subtle sell of your services or your products, and possibly
your company's reliability and longevity.

Another specialized use of autoresponders is to create
courses that you can then offer your site visitors for
free. You must choose a topic in which you are an expert
and that precisely targets your potential customers.

Once you have carefully chosen your subject, divide it into
a number of different sub-topics. Then offer your site
visitor a free 10 or 15 day course, each day offering a
different sub-topic. The first topic should always be a
welcome message to your site visitor and an explanation
about what is to follow. Your explanation should be
enticing, getting the point across that you are offering
free, quality information that your target audience will
find of great value.

With every lesson, include the number of the lesson, the
topic title, information about your company and its
services or products. At the end, include a few blurbs
about the next lesson to entice the subscriber to continue
on.

Make sure each topic is packed with essential and valuable
information, and leaves the visitor lusting to know more.
Otherwise, you may lose them in the very beginning.

Of course, you have to write up your course before you can
offer it. Once you have done this, and gone over the
material carefully, employing a professional writer or
editor if necessary, you must transfer your text to your
autoresponder.

There are a number of free autoresponders you can use. Try
http:/www.getresponse.com, or http://www.fastfacts.net. Or
go onto Google and you will find a long list of free
autoresponder companies. Then sign-up for your chosen
autoresponder. Once you do, you will receive instructions
as to how to set it up and transfer your text.

Email is an excellent marketing tool; it is inexpensive and
it is fast. Use it to advertise your business by choosing
your email address carefully. Your website should contain
different email addresses for different contact requests.
For example, use info@yourdomain.com for information
requests, or sales@yourdomain.com for questions about
sales. It's a good idea to set up one for the owner, such
as president@yourdomain.com. This presents your company in
a personal, approachable light and insures that direct
contact is provided.

Autoresponders are an effective and powerful marketing
tool, allowing you to make contact with thousands of
potential customers. This is an invaluable asset
considering how many potential customers you usually have
contact with before you make an actual sale. Essentially,
an autoresponser allows you to automate part of your
marketing campaign.Stanhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07561930743363665294noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5901221024797259558.post-13184666191153046412006-12-27T14:17:00.001-08:002006-12-27T14:18:57.715-08:00Autoresponder Marketing SecretsClick Here to Get Your Free eReports - The Billion Dollar Marketing Secret of America's Wealthiest Entrepreneurs"

An interested visitor who has been strolling through your
site has finally come to just what she is looking for and
is about to make a purchase. It's a sunny afternoon, and
her cat, who happens to be sitting on the moss under the
visitor's large fifty-year-old snow-rose bonsai tree,
suddenly jumps down, and the priceless tree topples over.

In the blink of an eye, your visitor exits your site, and
your sale is dust - unless you have had the foresight to
utilize an autoresponder that has captured her email
address. If you have installed an autoresponder, you can
then follow-up with her, and in all probability, make the
sale when the poor woman has finished repotting her
precious bonsai.

Autoresponders are remarkable, versatile programs that do
so much more than just automatically answer your email.
Here are a few ideas that will help you to creatively and
productively use your autoresponder to transform the casual
visitor into a profitable customer. Use your autoresponder
to:

1. Publish a newsletter. Certain quality autoresponders
will manage subscriptions and follow-up with interested
prospects. Your newsletter can keep your visitors informed
about your services or products, while building your
reputation as a credible expert in your particular
business.

2. Publish a newsletter only for your affiliates. Inform
them of current sales you are running and of promotional
material that your affiliates can use themselves to
increase their commissions. Include tips, advice, and
techniques that your affiliates can use to successfully go
out and promote your business.

3. Write reviews. Cover books, software, music, e-books,
movies, etc., and put each review in an autoresponder.
Review your affiliate programs, using a link to your
affiliate's page in your autoresponder.

4. Distribute your articles. Writing and distributing
targeted articles is a powerful tool to build your business
credibility, bring traffic to your site, and increase your
sales potential. If your articles contain valuable
information, many editors will print what is known as a
resource box for you. A resource box contains your bio and
a brief description of your service or product. It can also
contain your autoresponder address. Let's say you've
written fifty articles. Put them on separate autoresponder
accounts and create a master list that contains the titles
of each article, the autoresponder address, and a brief
abstract. Then promote your master list. Additionally,
include your publishing guidelines so your affiliates can
add their articles to your list, increasing the number of
writers who are represented in your article list.

5. Create mailing lists. Inform subscribers to your
articles when you've written new ones that they may want to
publish in their own newsletter or website.

6. Automate your sales process. Use an ad to insure
repeated exposure of your message, which has been proven to
effectively increase sales. In your ad, put your
autoresponder address where a visitor will be exposed to
numerous marketing materials. This multiplies the chances
of converting visitors into customers. For example, if
you're selling a particular product, put testimonials about
how spectacular it is on your autoresponder, and add a
detailed, enticing description of your product.

7. Distribute advertising. Let's say you sell advertising
on your website or in your newsletter or e-zine. Set your
autoresponder to send the information about rates and how
to place an ad automatically to all prospects' email
addresses. Then have your autoresponder follow-up. It can
also send notification of any special deals you are
currently offering.

8. Distribute an email course. Each day, have your
autoresponder send out another lesson. Just be sure that
each lesson has quality content - not a sales pitch. Your
content will do the selling for you, and will do it much
more effectively. You can include tips centered on a
different topic for each lesson, illustrating how your
product will benefit the reader. Include the tangible
benefits the visitor will reap by purchasing your product.
Make sure to include a paragraph or two at the end of each
lesson enticing your prospect to consider making a
purchase.

9. Automate a reminder about your service or product after
a visitor has completed your course. This will increase the
possibility of sales from visitors who have taken your
course but are dragging their feet about actually making a
purchase. You can also use these reminders to promote new
products or services, and the products and services of your
affiliate programs.

10. Distribute free reports. This gives your visitor an
idea of the type of information you can provide and the
quality of your product or service. Make sure these reports
are not sales letters or you will more than likely lose a
potential customer than gain a sale.

11. Create trivia quizzes on your site and place the
answers in an autoresponder. Your visitor will then be
motivated to request your autoresponder, and you will have
a record of the visitors' email addresses who took your
quiz. Or create a contest and have any visitors that enter
send their responses to your autoresponder. Your
autoresponder can be set-up to send them a confirmation of
their entry.

12. Offer a trial version of your product. Give your
prospects a sample of your ebook, course, software,
membership, etc. People who are exposed to a little taste
often end up wanting the whole pie. You can also capture
their email addresses when you offer them a free trial from
your website. Set up your autoresponder to give
instructions on how to obtain their free trial, and then
make sure to follow-up to try and close the sale.

13. Link to hidden pages on your autoresponder. For
example, a hidden page could be your affiliate page that
contains graphics, promotional articles, and text links
that interested affiliates can make use of. Inform visitors
that they may have free access to your affiliate page by
simply requesting your autoresponder. You will then gather
a list of visitors who may be interested in becoming your
affiliates.

14. Use an autoresponder on your order page. Post a request
form for visitors to be notified of special offers or
discounts in the future. This creates a very effective
mailing list that contains the names of people who are
already your customers.

15. Put your links page on your autoresponder. It should
contain up to fifty links that would be of particular
interest to your visitors. Make sure to add your own
promotional copy at the top or bottom of this page.

Now that you have proof that autoresponders can be used
creatively, see if you can come up with some brilliant
ideas of your own!Stanhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07561930743363665294noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5901221024797259558.post-78851875392836996202006-12-27T14:00:00.000-08:002006-12-27T14:03:09.942-08:00Three Mistakes That Even Smart Entrepreneurs MakeClick Here to Get Your Free eReports - The Billion Dollar Marketing Secret of America's Wealthiest Entrepreneurs"

I want to ask you a very serious and difficult question.

Are you an Internet Marketing millionaire? The dirty little secret of Internet Marketing is that their is no magic formula.
